Large Restoration period clock circa 1820. Mercury-gilded bronze architecture decorated with finely chiseled patinated bronze. Large sculpture of Alexander the Great, one of the most famous figures of Antiquity, seated, covered in an antique drape, holding a scroll in one hand and a lyre in the other. Bronze dial highlighted by a wide outline of palmettes. Rectangular base decorated with trumpets wrapped in three laurel wreaths and ribbons.
Original mechanism without modification, silk thread suspension. Hour and half-hour strike on an old bell.
