Engraving after Joseph-Siffred DUPLESSIS – Portrait of Gabriel Sénac de Meillan dated 1783. Engraver Charles Clément Bervic. An identical engraving is kept at the Museum of the French Revolution. Gabriel Sénac de Meillan (1736-1803) administrator and writer, second son of Jean-Baptiste Sénac, first physician to King Louis XV. He had a brilliant administrative career by becoming intendant of different regions of France. Louis Joseph-Siffred DUPLESSIS (1725-1802) Talented portrait painter, he reached the height of his career with the bust and full-length portraits of King Louis XVI. From then on, he executed portraits of the king's entourage, the aristocracy or famous people. Charles Clément Bervic (1756-1822) Intaglio engraver working exclusively with burin, he received a large number of prizes and his talent as a draftsman was particularly appreciated.
