MECHELEN, second quarter of the 17th century.
Alabaster plaque carved in bas-relief with gold and polychrome highlights representing Saint Anne Trinitarian: Saint Anne, the Virgin and the Child Jesus.
The Cartouche bears the monogram IT For Isaak van Tissenaken (c1597-1650).
Original pastiglia frame with interlacing decoration. Very good general condition of this object, approximately 400 years old. No cracks or repairs. frame 21.8 x 19 cm.

Isaac Tissenaken was a member of a large family of alabaster sculptors who often signed their works. Isaac is mentioned as occupying a house in Bruul in Mechelen, in 1643.
