The crystal is supported by a sumptuous gilded bronze mount, the quality of the chiseling as well as its delicacy underline the richness of this composition, offering a real overview of the production of the French luxury industry in the second half of the 19th century. Created in 1844, the Clichy-la-Garenne crystal factory established itself from the beginning of the Second Empire as one of the most important French manufacturers in the production of crystal.
Unfortunately, its creations were not signed but only appeared with a label that has often disappeared today.
Its numerous participations in the Universal Exhibitions that punctuated the second half of the 19th century were also always crowned with success. Innovative, the Clichy Glassworks was able to benefit from several complementary and determining factors including the technological and scientific development of the 19th century, before definitively turning off its furnaces in 1895. The whole is in very good condition (to be cleaned).
Louis XVI style, a French work circa 1880.
