Marie Duhem Impressionist School. Oil on panel "Young peasant woman at work" signed lower right Marie Duhem. French School. 33 X 24.5 cm. Marie-Geneviève Duhem (1871-1918) and her husband Henri Duhem (1860-1941), himself a painter, were close to the Impressionist School. They collected many paintings from this artistic movement, including works by Claude Monet (1840-1926) and Paul Gauguin (1848-1903). Marie Duhem's art is influenced by the Masters of Impressionism and she has nothing to envy them in the accomplishment of her task. Wooden frame and gilded stucco of the period. Cartridge indicating the name of the artist affixed to the frame. Good condition. Requires cleaning.
