"View Of The Agile Rabbit By Louis Battin (19th-20th Century)"
Charming little painting of old Montmartre: View of the famous cabaret "Le Lapin Agile" from the corner of the rue des Saules and rue Saint Vincent. It very well translates the village character of the 18th arrondissement at that time, if only by the dominant tones of ochre-browns and the green of the vegetation. Very sure touch, good control of light. The painting, an oil on wood panel was painted around 1906 - 1907 (see the photo with the label of a view similar to ours). Louis Battin, whose date of birth and death are unknown, is known for his views of Paris Signed lower left. Modern frame. Excellent condition
