"Chest Of Drawers In Olive Wood Marquetry, Early 18th Century"
Louis XIV chest of drawers with arched front in veneered wood: Olive, rosewood, boxwood fillets and blackened wood. The top edged with a molding in end grain wood is decorated with a path of interlaced fillets simulating geometric reserves, the reserve in the center receives a decoration of a Maltese cross. It opens with four drawers, they are divided into two reserves to receive the hanging handles. The interiors of the oak drawers, dovetail assembly, slide on poplar floors. Nailed poplar back. The rounded uprights end with a straight foot decorated on each side with small cut consoles. The olive wood sides are decorated with diamonds.
