"Crossbow-shaped Chest Of Drawers, Pierre Hache, 18th Century"
Beautiful walnut chest of drawers with two rows of drawers on four arched legs ending in doe clogs. This chest of drawers, although not stamped, is attributable to the cabinetmaker Pierre Hache (1703/1776). The assembly of the frame, the drawers mounted with a rebate, the widened corbin beak top with a projection at the back, the uprights decorated with lambrequins and the sides decorated with shells, the choice of wood, as well as the elegant harmony of the whole attest to a production by Pierre Hache. Pull handles and lock entries in gilded bronze. A similar model can be found in the work of Pierre and Francois Rouge, le Genie des Haches, Faton edition, Page 129.
