"Marie Antoinette, Dauphine Of France, Biscuit Bust After Boizot, 63.5 Cm High"
Large biscuit porcelain bust representing Marie Antoinette as Dauphine of France, therefore before 1774. The young sovereign is represented wearing an ermine-trimmed cape on her left shoulder, and a small tiara pinned in her hair. No apparent signature but this bust was made in Sèvres and Limoges too. For your information, it once adorned the office of a proxy at Haviland in Limoges. The base is in white enameled porcelain (some defects on this one). Some firing cracks on the face. Very decorative bust. Period late 19th century. Delivery in a wooden crate on a pallet, 150 euros in France, 300 euros in the EU and 1000 euros rest of the world.
