This ink and watercolor represents a view of Montmartre animated with the Moulin de la Galette. A very beautiful palette of bright and very contrasting colors. Elisée MACLET was born in 1881 in Lihons in the Somme; he died in Paris in 1962. Painter of urban landscapes, he mainly painted Paris where he settled in 1906. The Butte Montmartre where he lived, is one of his favorite subjects but also many other districts of Paris. Dimensions: 30.5 cm x 36 cm watercolor at sight 53 cm x 59 cm with its frame Elisée MACLET has exhibited in many galleries both in France and abroad. He is notably listed in Bénézit, in the Dictionary of painters in Montmartre by André Roussard. This work comes from the estate of Mr. and Mrs. Jacques DAZZI, great art collectors, a collection that was dispersed at the Hôtel Drouot in several successive sales in 2014 and 2015.
