Arthur Charles Georges CHAPLIN, French painter born in Jouy-en-Josas on August 8, 1869, died in Paris 18th on May 10, 1935, son of the painter Charles Chaplin. He obtained an honorable mention at the Salon des artistes français in 1903 then a 3rd class medal the following year2. Abandoning the vaporous undresses often represented by his father, Arthur Chaplin drew his inspiration from the more chaste beauties of botany. A student of Léon Bonnat then Bernier, his interest in Dutch still life was confirmed during a trip to the Netherlands.
