"Revolutionary Period Silk Embroidery"
Beautiful silk embroidery decorated in the center with a monogrammed medallion AL and G. interlaced placed on a trophy of arms, flags and a large lictor's bundle, on the top and below a perched bird, one holding a laurel wreath the other an olive branch. Under the lictor's bundle is hung a medallion marked "he serves HIS COUNTRY the reward is in his heart". At the top and on the sides are flowering rose branches. On the back of the frame the inscriptions: "Very curious embroidery, silk, gold and silver threads from the revolutionary period with the number surrounded by numerous attributes, of the Graverand senior officer, piece in perfect condition in its period frame". And above "Alexis Le Graverand died at 57 in Rennes..." Gilded wooden frame (wear) embroidery under glass, (silk discolored for certain colors).
