A student at the Academy of Molines, Sir Hamilton Seymour commissioned portraits of his wife and children from him, which were very successful. The King of the Belgians commissioned paintings from him. A friend of Alfred Stevens, he settled in Paris in 1844, where he enjoyed immense success. The Emperor and Empress were among his clients. The Louvre Museum invited him to participate in the restoration of Raphael's Saint-Jean Baptiste, among others...
