"Bronze Oil Lamps"
Bronze oil lamp with a beautiful patina. The back of the head can be opened to fill it with oil. Its mouth with its tongue out contains a tube for the wick. In the style of Severo Calzetta da Ravenna Severo Calzetta da Ravenna nicknamed the Master of the Dragons. This sculptor worked between Ravenna, Ferrara and Padua between the end of the 15th century and the middle of the 16th century. A number of bronze objects are attributed to him, preserved in various museums around the world. The revival of Severo Calzetta da Ravenna's creations in the 18th and 19th centuries is part of the tradition of the Grand Tour: these were objects intended for enlightened amateurs.
