This monumental still life with various fruits and flowers was executed in the first half of the 19th century and, despite the lack of a signature, is a typical example of the work of the Austrian still life and flower painter of the Biedermeier period Johann Gorg Seitz (1810 Nuremberg - 1970 Vienna).Literature: Prof. H.Fuchs "Die Österreichische Maler des 19 und 20 Jahrhunderts", Vienna, 1975.
Inscription: unsigned, on the back of the stretcher - old label with the artist's dates.
Technique: oil on canvas, original period gilt frame.
Dimensions: oval unframed l 39 1/2" x h 29 1/3" ( 100.5 x 74.5 cm), framed l 48 3/4" x h 38 1/2 " ( 124 x 98 cm).
Condition: in good condition.
