"Roman Intaglio - "fortuna""
Roman Intaglio - "Fortuna"

Roman period - 1st to 2nd century AD

The ring represents the goddess Fortuna standing facing forward, her head turned to the right.
The attributes of Fortuna represented on this intaglio are: wings, a cornucopia and a bouquet of ears of wheat and fruit and is wearing the crested helmet of Minerva.

The intaglio is mounted in a modern gold ring. An old restoration was carried out in the lower right corner of the ring.

The last photo represents a similar model at the BNF which bears the inventory number: 2021.130
