"Small Bronze Fountain Head Presented On Its Pedestal Base In Various Marbles Late 18th Century"
Rare head of a small Louis XV fountain, from the 18th century in patinated bronze in the image of a Goddess, spittoon orifice in the mouth and presented on a pedestal base in various marbles, black gray and green, built like a basin masonry with in its center at the front an amazonite of a beautiful raw green pigmented with white in a beaded bronze frame as on the upper part of the base. A real curiosity that this small expressive head and patinated by time, a marbled paper covers the underside of the sole of black and white Carrara marble in steps and crowned with a fine boudin marble with a green veined front, the sheath built like a masonry wall in small rectangles of gray marble crowned at its top with black marble veined with white symbolizing a basin edge, the head rests on a bronze with pyramidal sides. The abundant hair crowned with laurel leaves encircled with a ribbon. A delightful collector's item and curiosity in good condition, well presented.
