STRONG SWORD OF THE 2ND COMPANY OF MUSKETEERS OF THE KING'S MILITARY HOUSE, model 1762 (1762-1775), Old Monarchy. 28791 Cast and silver-plated brass mount with openwork shell, crossguard with chape cover, shell thumb and antennae, quillon in the crook. Cast fuse imitating filigree. Pommel decorated on each side with the Musketeers' cross with quintuple corner flames. H of the mount 15.4 cm. Flat blade engraved on each side "2nd COMPANY OF MUSKETEERS OF THE KING", heel engraved "From the Mark of the Mouchette in Solingen", back engraved "Giverne Md Fourbisseur Rue Vieille Boucherie à l'Épée Royale in Paris". Length 80 cm. France. Old Monarchy, reign of Louis XV. Good condition, silver plating partly erased, oxidation on the blade, without scabbard.
