He copied almost all the styles, from “Boulle” to “Louis XVI”, including extraordinary and very personal interpretations of an exuberant Louis XV style. He participated in the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889, where he won a gold medal for having presented a remarkable copy of the “most famous piece of furniture in the world”, the desk of King Louis XV, the work of Riesener and Oeben. The Exhibition catalogue praised his work very highly, describing it as “perfect”.
