"Large And Deep Louis XV Period Bergère With Ears In Waxed And Patinated Beech, 18th Century"
Rare and imposing Louis XV period bergere with ears in waxed and patinated beech, from the middle of the 18th century. It rests on four arched and molded legs. The two lateral sides of the belt are scalloped and nicely molded. The front face is decorated with an inverted shell centered between two volutes. The backrest is inclined, the top crosspiece is curved (quite rare) and slightly curved at its top (see photo). The two of our seat are equipped with two large orillons going from the top of the backrest and joining the armrest sleeves. The seat is very deep and has a well-padded cushion. These different elements give this seat a lot of comfort and a remarkable appearance. The structure of the seat is very solid, the tenon joints cross the entire pieces of wood, especially on the entire back of our bergere (see photo) and thus give great stability to this seat. The upholstery is old but still in good condition, the fabric is weakened but has an acceptable aesthetic. The cushion cover is worn on its front, we have not removed it from the cushion (see photo), it will of course be provided with this seat, we also provide a similar piece of fabric to be able to possibly replace or complete it.
