Wonder Tool: Artist's Or Masonic Square, Carved Pear Tree, 1739, Monogram

Beautiful monoxyle object from pear wood, combining backrest bracket and angular bracket, the first carved of artistic moldings and corbin beak, the second marked of fillets and center-punched flowers. On flat, pointed: the date 1739 surrounding owner's monogram: IWH? German work, 18th century, reminiscent of a journeyman or masonic tool, (simple hypothesis, I am not qualified).
Good condition, 2 wood cracks, superb untouched patina, white mark of old collection, N°6733. 26cm x 9cm x 2.5cm.
