Professor at the University of Utrecht, his book had appeared in Latin in 1712, it was translated into French by the Abbé Desfontaines and published anonymously in 1741 (rare. It is here in the 2nd edition, also rare, from 1750. A fine copy with the Arms on the first cover and the Emblem on the second cover of the Congregation of the Fathers of Christian Doctrine of Toulouse. At the beginning of the Volume, handwritten mention and stamp of two former owners of this interesting work in the 19th century. Otherwise complete and in good condition....
