"Second Half Of The 18th Century Presentation Of Jesus Painting"
Refined oil painting on canvas, framed in an elegant carved and gilded wooden frame. The painting features in the center the scene of the presentation of Jesus by Mary to Saint Francis, assisted by a cherub. The artist has skilfully used chiaroscuro to give greater depth to the work, in which the central figures emerge brightly from the darker background, characterized by arched architecture, natural landscape elements and a secondary character. The figures of the Madonna, Jesus, the little angel and Saint Francis are treated with particular attention to detail, from their clothes to their attributes, and their gazes convey meaning and intensity. The painting is in excellent condition and is on the first canvas. It is attributed to a painter from the Marche (central Italy) of the second half of the 18th century.
