Exceptional living room painting representing a view of the Pyrenees on the edge of a lively lake (specialty of the artist) from the 1880s and signed lower right, on its original canvas and with its original frame in wood and finely carved gilded stucco. He was a student of Gustave COURBET, specialist in Pyrenean landscapes but also views of Constantinople and Venice, he was from 1880 precisely a member of the southwest section of the French Alpine Club then chaired by Franz SCHRADER. He was exhibited at many salons and was recognized as a talented and very prolific landscaper. Exhibited in many museums and referenced in the Benezit and masters of the 19th century by G. SCHURR.
