Object description :

"Reliquary Of The Virgin And Child With 8 Relics - 18th Century"
A work of the 18th century congregation. In a beautiful gilded wooden frame, there is a luminous reliquary with a radiant statue of the Virgin and Child, topped with a cherub. At its feet, there is the main relic, to whom this object of devotion is more particularly dedicated. Our relic thus bears the mention of the 11,000 Virgins. In the same vein, we discover on the lower part, three relics from the catacombs. In the four corners, on beautiful flowers in golden paperolles, rest relics of Saint Ursula which echo the main subject, as well as the relics of Saint Felicis, Saint Joseph and Saint Bonaventure. As is often the case, there are therefore 8 relics that are offered. The eight having neither beginning nor end.
The central frame is on wood, like the rays of Glory, the Virgin and Child are in molded plaster, then painted with a delicate surround of silk pleats. Overall dimensions 32cm by 28cm.
Excellent condition.
