"Japan - Mizuya-dansu - Keyaki - Red Lacquered - Meiji 19th"
Superb and large Japanese two-body furniture called Mizuya-Dansu (kitchen furniture) in red lacquered Keyaki (elm). The upper part is closed by two large and two small sliding doors decorated with bamboo slats as well as nine drawers in the belt. The lower part is composed of four doors. The large doors were used to give access to the dishes while the small ones housed the objects for the tea ceremony. Wrought iron closures and handles. Very pretty natural patina. Dimensions: Height: 175 cm; Length: 227 cm; Width: 50 cm. Origin: Japan. Period: Meiji era (1868 - 1912) - 19th. Conditions: Very good general condition.
