Large Clock Portico "lepaute Horloger Du Roy"

Large, very decorative portico clock, rare model, from a very fine manufacture. Signed on the dial "Lepaute horloger du Roy Paris", a prestigious family of watchmakers referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French watchmakers.

In white Carrara marble and quality gilded bronze ornamentation. Architecture with two columns decorated with Corinthian capitals and scrolls on each column of laurel leaves.
The upper part is composed of a domed arch topped with pine cones and a magnificent flower vase decorated with large scroll handles connected by a garland and a fall of flowers.

Imposing domed dial in white enamel and its finely worked gilded hands, protected by a domed glass set in a finely chiseled bezel.

The space between the columns is occupied by a beautiful sun pendulum and a large openwork frieze and chiseled laurel leaves, surrounding a chiseled medallion of a musician cherub.
