Superb Naga Konyak tribe, Nagaland (North Est of India) necklace made up of 29 rows of carved and polished multi-colored stones mini tubes shape beads, and glass paste, some in brass.
The tribal jewel is punctuated vertically by 10 thin large carved bone separation bars to give a certain rigidity to the whole.
Mounted on rope and large round closing carved bone button also, with a very beautiful patina.
Sizes
Around 44cm high by 35 cm wide
Superb overall patina, for the finely carved stems and the bone button, but also the beads, largely irregular in length or diameter, shape and or polished.
This piece is part of a private Spanish collection (Georgio VERDALLE , who was antics dealer in San Francisco with a shop names "Tribal Bazar") of 15 pieces of similar provenance, purchased locally (mainly in Pakistan, Afghanistan or India), although this necklace seems very different to me from the other pieces) and brought back to Europe in the 1970s.
