"Small Porcelain Dish Decorated In Cobalt Blue. China Circa 1800."
Small dish in Chinese porcelain, decorated with a lake landscape in high-fire cobalt blue. This type of porcelain was made in China in the Jingdezhen kilns for the European market, it is found in large quantities of mediocre quality, however this small dish is an exception by its remarkable designs, indeed, it is a real feat to have been able to realize on porcelain a miniature landscape so well executed. The smallest details are represented there, such as the window lattices and the tiny characters are very active, the fisherman is attentive to his line that is slightly curved by the wind and the rower bends his body by forcing on his oar. Such quality required a specialized miniaturist, one of the best painters of the factory and the cost of this dish must have been significant. It is certainly a special order made by a wealthy amateur. Normally this dish should have been part of large services today dispersed, but having found nothing similar perhaps it was ordered alone? China early 19th century. Width approximately 16cm. Good condition.
