Exceptional Marquetry System Furniture, Stamped WASSMUS, Rectangular in Shape, It is in Rosewood Marquetry with Geometric Decoration, in Reserves of Gilded Bronze Friezes. It opens on the Front with 2 Drawers which close with their respective Key and a Drawer on the side, It has on the front its Writing Desk covered with its old Moroccan. It is stamped 2 times under the Writing Desk Top. The Top is finely inlaid with a Superb Bouquet of Flowers in Precious Wood Veneer, in a Rosewood and Rosewood Surround, Surrounded by a Gilded Bronze Frieze. It rests on slightly arched Feet, superbly covered with Gilded Bronze Nets, ending with Magnificent Bronze Clogs. It measures 56 CM in Length, 40 CM in Width, and 74 CM in Height. It is in Superb Condition. Henri-Leonard WASSMUS, also known as WEISSMUSC, was a French Cabinetmaker of the 19th Century, from a renowned Family of Wood Craftsmen. With an exceptional talent as a designer, he specialized in the creation of period furniture, including faithful reproductions of the most beautiful furniture of the 17th century. The activity of the Wassmus brothers house, extending throughout the 19th century, experienced two generations under the direction of Jean-Henri-Chrétien and Jean-Henri-Christophe, followed by their descendants who turned to the manufacture of artistic cabinetmaking, Henri-Léonard fils being the creator and principal designer.
