"Louis XVI Period Fireplace Trim"
Louis XVI period set in white Carrara marble and finely chiseled and gilded bronze. The clock has a case resting on a "cul de lampe" decorated with laurel leaves and two fluted claw feet. It is flanked by two small columns decorated with acanthus leaves, bunches of fruit, a pearl frieze and palmettes. It is topped with a bouquet of flowers and fruit. The dial indicates the hours and minutes in Arabic numerals. The movement is wire. The pair of cassolettes forming candlesticks rests on a tripod base. The Athenian base finished with three sabot feet as well as the twisted central stem, supports the vase decorated with an openwork frieze. The whole is decorated with chains, rosettes, acanthus leaves and bunches of fruit. The clock, in perfect working order, has been revised by our watchmaker. It has two keys, one for winding the movement and the second for adjusting the balance wheel.
