Tibetan chest in lacquered camphor wood and partly covered with coated canvas. The paint is applied to a fabric and decorated on the front with a polychrome floral decoration. The lid opens with rings. The reinforcement and closure fittings are in wrought iron. Good general condition. These chests were used for storing religious objects either in homes or in monasteries. They can either be painted directly on the wood, or for older pieces, on a fabric applied to the wood. The colors and patterns used are very decorative.
