Very rare pewter EGG CUP with flared cup, leg with central knot and moving pedestal with scalloped base.
Control mark: FF crowned / R / (7)3. (For 1773). The R, initial of ROUEN, FF for fine pewter.
Mark affixed twice by Charles BOISSEL received master around 1754: crowned hammer / CBS
Height: 9.8 cm.

The control at the vintage of 1774 is known to us and therefore allows us to date this egg cup precisely.
Third example encountered in almost 50 years…
Very good condition, an oxidation under the pedestal is however reported.
