Wonderful medieval blacksmith's utility jewel, 14 grams, Gothic period, 14th century, which was found in both Italy and France, this small flat key, easy to hide under the finest clothes, was used to open the lock of a hiding place (or cassette) quite complicated for period.
Forged in one piece, hot beaten iron technique, (which made the iron not very rusty, but brittle), heart-shaped ring, pierced on centre around tip of the anvil, reinforced straight rod, disheveled bit of open holes ... a superb design.
Dimensions: 6cm x 2.5cm and 14 grams.
--I have a lot of old keys to sell, if someone is looking for a large lot, it is possible-
