Etienne Aubry depicts a mother and her children playing around a tub. It is a scene from everyday life full of sweetness and tenderness. French painter born in Versailles in 1745, Etienne Aubry trained in the studio of the painter Joseph-Marie VIEN, first painter to the King. He quickly became known for his portraits and later his genre scenes which were exhibited at the salons and had great success. After a long stay in Rome he became a history painter.
