"Karl Griesbaum Music Box Enamel Late 19th Century Singing Bird"
This music box with singing bird is rectangular in shape. It has polychrome enamel plates, there is a medallion with a barnyard scene decor with chickens and a peacock in the foreground. The mechanism is activated by a push button. We did not find a signature on the mechanism, we can think of Karl Griesbaum, founder of an automaton company. Please note, we specify that we have not done any functional tests, the box is sold to be revised. We report that the whistling bird comes out, but that the box is difficult to close. For the condition, note that the box is difficult to close and open at the bird level. The enamel is in perfect condition. Karl Griesbaum founded his watchmaking company in 1905. From 1920, he specialized in singing bird automatons, and became one of the leading producers of the 20th century. Our photos allow you to appreciate the quality of this music box.
