Small Louis XV Period Walnut Basket Sofa, 18th Century

Charming and comfortable Louis XV period walnut sofa. A very beautiful Louis XV period sofa with ideal proportions for 2 or 3 people, comfortable and easy to place.
This sofa is made of solid walnut and is entirely shaped and molded with fretwork crosspieces.
It rests on 5 molded curved legs ending in acanthus leaves and small sabots.
The crosspieces of the base and backrest are all fretwork and molded in a beautiful blond walnut.
The armrests therefore return in a basket towards the inside with a nice whiplash movement.
The walnut is superb and blond in color, it has been completely xylophène preventively in the workshop.
The fabric is a silk in the spirit of 18th century Lyon with exotic flowers on an old pink background.
An old fabric of very good quality almost like new.
It includes a beautiful generously filled seat cushion and two small decorative cushions.
the back is covered with a plain old pink canvas. the underside is upholstered in the old style over the joints with a checked
 pegged and the crosspieces underneath reveal traces of manual sawing.
