He began his career at the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg. He was immediately noticed and supported by Louis Philippe Kamm (Hansi) and he retains immense gratitude for this. Henri Jacques MASSON, after the tedious months he spent at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, the two years of solitude and meditation during which he had to fix his path, in Clamart, made his work spring forth in a cry of humanity, from the depths of his heart. MASSON's work is not addressed to the senses but to the soul. He translates through stone the mystical ardor of a soul or the pathetic call of a heart. Photos of Masson's sculpted works (Life in Alsace) St. Francis of Assisi, St. James of Compostela, monk in prayer His painting is the opposite of sculpture. Everything is clarity, tranquility, appeasement. Nature is transformed by creative light, in the play of the most crystalline nuances, under vaporous dawns, glorious and serene noons.
