Pair of Louis XVI style gilded bronze candlesticks or torches. Very chic model with beautiful bronze chiseling. On a circular base, a frieze of pearls and laurel leaves. The fluted shaft carries a garland of leaves, fluted socket and cup. These candlesticks were assembled in two vertical parts (18th century technique) and you can see the fine assembly line over the entire height of the candlesticks (see photos). The shaft and the base are held together by a thick screw thread. The original gilding is still present in the hollows. Period late Louis XVI, late 18th, early 19th century.
