"A Pair Of Boulle Cabinets XIX From Around 1860, Amazing!!!"
A pair of Boulle cabinets XIX from around 1860, amazing!!! with wavy sides and beveled front and front corners, closed by a single leaf, supported by console feet. The whole is veneered, stained black and polished according to what is called French Mat, decorated with inlays of brass wire creating floral motifs, on a reddish tortoiseshell background, further decorated with gilded bronze. On the door leaf there are oval medallions framed by a profiled brass band and framed by triangular fields in the corners. The upper cornice and the base are framed by a profiled band. The front corners are decorated with rosettes at the top and bottom, as well as caryatids in the upper part. The sides are also richly covered with marquetry. There are two shelves inside; Furniture decorated with "Bouille marchande", a decorative technique popularized and perfected by the royal furniture designer Charles André Boulle (1642 - 1732).
