The two drawings were part of the Jef Codron exhibition, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth (see label on the back of the paintings).
Jef Codron (Brussels, 1882-1942)
He is a painter, draftsman, engraver and lithographer. He studied at the Brussels Academy under the direction of Verheyden, Stallaert, Taelemans and Richir. In 1904 and 1907, he took the entrance exam for the Prix de Rome and entered the Prize again in 1910. He painted and engraved numerous urban landscapes (of Brussels), landscapes, coastal views, as well as figures, nudes and floral arrangements.
