Indus Valley Civilization (Harappan Civilization), 3300 years - 1300 years BCE, Harappa region, North of the Indian subcontinent, rare and very pretty terracotta statuette of a fertility goddess wearing a formal headdress and a long skirt. Presence of traces of soil inlay. Touching testimony of this culture which disappeared well before our era and is often compared to those of Egypt and Mesopotamia. Right arm and half of the left arm missing, nothing abnormal given the great antiquity of this statuette.Provenance: private collection of an aesthete specializing in ancient civilizations.
