"Théophile Decanis, Provençal Painting Surroundings Of Berre The Pond Marseille Martigues Marignane."
This superb oil on canvas is in very good condition, with some minimal traces of time, almost nothing. It is ready to be hung. Its original frame is also very well preserved. This Provencal landscape is not located, but it is most likely the surroundings of the Berre pond. It is monogrammed at the bottom right with the artist's characteristic D. Théophile Decanis (1848-1917) is a well-known and highly rated Provencal painter. He was a student and friend of Jean-Baptiste Olive. Many museums hold his works, Marseille, Dignes-les-Bains, Narbonne... He succeeded in creating with this painting a beautiful bucolic and luminous atmosphere of the Provencal hinterland, around 1880-1900. This landscape is really very pleasant and decorative. Dimensions with its frame: 71.5 x 54.5 cm. Dimensions without its frame: 55 x 38 cm. Fast, careful and very secure shipping.
