Beautifully carved in the thickness of the wood of a lively landscape, you will easily recognize Toba on his mule who is preparing to cross a river thanks to a stone bridge, a traditional house under a tree on the right, the mountains at sunrise on the left. All under the watchful eye of two dragons that border the large medallion. The facades are carved with birds perched on bamboo for one, on branches of peach trees in bloom for the second. The side handles represent a fantastic animal. It still has its lock but not its key. Very beautiful finely carved monoxyl work. Indochina / Vietnam or China around 1900. Dimensions of the chest, sculptures included: Length: 53.5 cm Width: 33 cm Height: 13.5 cm I am adding its removable overhanging base which is restored and its spacer replaced (53 cm x 32.5 cm). Height of the set: approximately 69 cm Condition: Light marks of time. Carved decoration in very good condition, without missing or restorations. Restored base. All cleaned, ready to be installed!
