"Tric Trac Table - Mahogany - 18th Century Directory"
Games Table, called Tric Trac Table from the end of the 18th century, probably from the Directoire or Empire period given the four sheathed legs finished with bronze sabots. This mahogany and mahogany veneer table opens with two drawers in the belt. The top is covered with green leather gilded with small iron on one side and green felt on the other. It reveals an interior in blackened ebony veneer and green and white varnish. The varnish and the morocco leather are original and therefore need to be restored. One of the game pieces, a flag that is quite rare to find, is still present.
This Tric-Trac game, very popular among the nobility from the 16th century, like Jacquet and Backgammon, will gradually die out after the revolution, replaced by other board games or under the Empire by many card games.
