Object description :

" Pair Of Verdures, Aubusson Tapestry Door 18th Century"
- Set of two "Verdure" tapestry doors woven in the Aubusson region in the 18th century. These doors show lush vegetation in a landscape decorated with waterways. We can also see on one of them in the background, a path leading us to a building. These weavings display colors of beautiful freshness, the shades of green and blue contribute largely to this effect.

- Used condition. Restorations and gaps are to be noted; the right door has at the bottom, a fragment from another tapestry brought back with a certain concern for visual integration to offer a harmonious decorative ensemble. This sensitivity illustrates the aesthetic value that art lovers gave and still give today to these fragments of greenery for their very decorative aspect, perceived as real windows on the outside. - Tapestries lined on the reverse with a ring fixing system.

- Dimensions: left tapestry - height: 234 cm, width: 129 cm / right tapestry - height: 237 cm, width: 124.5 cm.
