"A Six-panel Folding Screen Depicting A Garden Of Flowers"
Six-panel screen painted on paper with pigments, gofun and gold leaf, featuring a refined composition of pink and white peonies, on whose branches a colorful bird perches.

Tall blue irises stand out on the left, while on the right an elegant red lily emerges next to a cherry tree in bloom.

The panels are framed by refined silk borders and a lacquered wood frame. The screen is signed at the bottom right.

Period: Meiji late 19th century
Dimensions: 171.5 x 377 cm
Condition: Excellent condition. There is slight wear of the white pigment of the flowers. There is an opening in the paper at the top between the joints of the 1st and 2nd panels. Defect in the silk frame at the bottom between the 3rd and 4th panels. The lacquered wood frame has general wear that has been restored, especially under the base.
