"Louis XVI Period Boulle Bronze Pull-out Minister's Desk"
DESCRIPTION / Minister's desk in blackened wood, brass wood strips which highlight the drawers, the sides and the edge of the top. Beautiful gilded bronze masks as side ornament, lock towers, sabots & top of foot ring also in bronze. Brass threads are present on the uprights in the Boulle style 2 side shelves are present & retractable if not used, opens on the front with 4 drawers: a large central one, 2 smaller ones on the left side and another higher on the right with interior storage. The back of the desk is in trompe l'oeil and takes up the decorations of the front. As you can see it is waiting for a 3-piece covering in imitation leather (included in the price) or genuine cowhide leather with a supplement of €300 from the FEY house in Paris, color & gold patterns to be determined with the future purchaser This is a Louis XVI period desk from the end of the 18th century and not in style, it still has 2 locks out of 4 which are original but I will have a lot of trouble finding a key from this period, I can adapt 4 19th century locks with key if that is a problem.
