Object description :

"Italian Painted Mid-century Dining Table In Orange-green-black By Cumino 1953"
Round dining table by Avolo by Cumino (Turin) from 1953 with a top decorated by Bottega d'Arte Decalage, an acronym for the surnames of three Turin painters: Felix De Cavero, Attilio Aloisi, Nardo Girardi.
Decalage - Turin table (original label) on the underside, signed by hand on the table top.

The table is a work of art and a piece of furniture, elegant and light-footed in its appearance.
The 3 legs are made of black lacquered iron with a brass finish. 3 metal struts converge to form a narrow base, the upper part is split into 3 branches.
The table top is 3.0cm thick and has been thinned to 5mm towards the edge.
This means the top is very stable, the visible edge of 5mm makes the table light.
The top shows a motif of delicate figures, horses and tall, elegant trees.
All in a delicate handwriting and all in soft movement. The colours range from green, red, brown and orange to a light beige that fills the centre of the table.
A very delicate gold powder has been sprinkled over the painting, which makes the impression even softer to look at. The table top was then varnished and protected with a high-gloss varnish.

The table legs were cleaned and the top re-polished, so the top is in very good condition.

A very decorative and unusual unique piece.
