Object description :

"Reliquary With Five Relics - Saint Clement, Pope - Saint Francois Régis - France"
End of the 19th century France This beautiful brass reliquary, with a beautiful presence and elegantly crafted, carefully houses five precious holy relics. Protected by thick glass, the episcopal wax seal is still intact, testifying to the authenticity and respect for the ecclesiastical standards in force at the time of its creation. The relics, carefully arranged, are attributed to: • Saint Francis Regis • Saint Privat • Saint Francis de Sales • Saint Amérine • Saint Clement, Pope Mini-Summary of the Saints Present: • Saint Francis Regis (1597-1640): French Jesuit priest, tireless missionary, known for his preaching to the most destitute and his commitment to the sick. • Saint Privat (3rd century): Bishop of Mende, martyred for his faith during the barbarian invasions. Patron of Gévaudan, he embodies spiritual protection in the face of adversity. • Saint Francis de Sales (1567-1622): Bishop of Geneva, Doctor of the Church and author of the spiritual work “Introduction to the Devout Life”. He is known for his gentleness and charity. • Saint Amérine (5th century): Saint often associated with local traditions and popular devotions, symbol of purity and discreet faith. • Saint Clement, Pope (1st century): Fourth pope of the Catholic Church, martyr under Emperor Trajan. He is often represented with an anchor, symbol of his martyrdom. History and Symbolism: This reliquary bears witness to a rich and profound devotion, specific to the religious traditions of the 18th centuries. Each relic is a fragment of spiritual history, a bridge between the faithful and the holy figures they represent. The diversity of the saints present, from the martyr bishop to the pope and the emblematic figures of Christian charity, makes it an exceptional object of contemplation and meditation.
